Griffin Strout 

 

Griffin Strout (he/him) is a music director, pianist, conductor, orchestrator and copyist based in New York City. This summer, he served as the music director for New Jersey Light Opera's production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and for College Light Opera Company's production of Singin' In the Rain. An experienced accompanist, he is currently a staff pianist for Young People's Chorus of New York, NYU Steinhardt and New York Film Academy.  

 

Recent credits include: Out of Myself: Songs of Peter Foley (Symphony Space, associate MD and addt'l orchestrations), A Christmas Story (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, Assoc. MD), Woman of the Year (J2 Spotlight, Assoc. MD), You're Gonna Love Tomorrow (Theater 2020). He has worked on projects at Theatre Aspen, The Times Center, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Ghostlight Theater Camp, and Theater 2020. 

 

Griffin is a graduate of Yale University, where he served as an accompanist for the Yale School of Drama (YSD) and the Shen Curriculum for Musical Theater, and acted as the music director for numerous student productions. Credits include: Into the Woods, Man of La Mancha, The Pirates of Penzance, and The Gift of the Magi (an opera by David Conte).
